ALWAYS tastes better when it sits in the icebox for a night.

Broiled Salmon with Ketjap Manis

Ketjap Manis is Indonesian Soy. Its viscous and sweeter which gives you caramelization and the depth of soy. Also in here is Rice Vinegar, a dash of Black Sesame Oil, Wesabe Paste, Regular Soy, Garlic and Olive Oil.

Marinate for 15 min and broil for 10 min ( i used very thick pieces). Dress the salmon with remaining marinade.

More on Ketjap Manis, here. It can be found at most large South East Asian Grocery Chains such as 99Ranch.

Update: I just added the recipe to Epicurious.

Simple experiences yet complex execution. #foodie

Dinner last night;
- filet with rosemary salt I picked up in Tuscany, cracked pepper and rubbed garlic
- crimini mushrooms with balsamic vinegar and wasabi paste
- grilled asparagus with salt, garlic and pepper.

Simple food is always much harder to get right.

Dinner: Quinoa, Turkey Kebab.

- Quinoa: garlic, cumin, chilly, curry leaves, onion, peas.
- Grilled Turkey kebab with Tamarine mayo
- Butter lettuce and arugula salad. Healthy, hi protein ....and tasty (if I may say so).

P.S a special thanks to my friend Kiran Joshi for the inspiration to play with Quinoa for the first time.
